Batteries – Limited Warranty

BattMech, a division of GlobalTech Environmental Corp., offers a Limited Warranty on Batteries when Batteries are purchased directly from BattMech and used for and in a BattMech-recommended manner.

The recommended use for Batteries covered under this Limited Warranty is for use within the specified make, model, and year vehicle, as described in the Batteries description on www.BattMech.com, in which the product was selected for purchase and purchased.

Definitions

Batteries: Means Battery Pack(s) or Battery Module(s).

Battery Module(s): A container consisting of one or more cells, in which chemical energy is or was converted into electricity and used as a source of power, is either refurbished or new in condition. Known as “Batteries” within this Limited Warranty.

Battery Pack(s): Refurbished or modules purchased from BattMech by Purchaser, usually to replace the core. Consists of 20, 28, 34, or 40 Modules of Nickel Metal Hydride design. They are either arranged sequentially, balanced, tested, and refurbished, or new in condition. Known as “Batteries” within this Limited Warranty.

Bus Bar(s): Copper and or Nickel metal plate found on the orange electrical harness that connects to the battery terminals.

Core: Original battery modules/cells that are being removed from the battery case and need replacing. These can be either Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) or Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) chemistry types. These are Generation 2 or newer if NiMH and were originally produced by Panasonic in Japan.

NIMH: Nickel Metal Hydride Battery abbreviation

Warranty Form

This Limited Warranty is void unless the warranty form is completed and submitted within thirty (30) days of your purchase.

Applicability

This Limited Warranty applies to the following product(s):

Batteries: when a Limited Warranty is purchased or given free with the product at the time of purchase by BattMech.com.

Please Note: Not all Batteries purchased through this website come with a Limited Warranty.

This Limited Warranty extends only to Battery Pack(s) and Battery Module(s) that are expressly labeled or represented by BattMech as including warranty coverage at the time of purchase. Any battery product that does not explicitly and affirmatively state that it is sold with a warranty shall be deemed sold ‘as is’ and is entirely excluded from this Limited Warranty.

This Limited Warranty covers any Batteries if the Batteries fail due to defects in materials or workmanship of the Batteries, under normal installation, recommended use, and service, during the warranty period.

This Limited Warranty applies solely to Batteries purchased and used within the fifty (50) United States.

Batteries purchased outside of, or used outside of, the fifty (50) United States are excluded from coverage under this Limited Warranty.

This Limited Warranty does not cover Batteries that are merely discharged, or that fail due to abuse, misuse, neglect, fire, accident, collision, explosion, freezing, theft, overcharging, alteration, improper installation, used for something other than their recommended use, unauthorized attempt to repair, or failure to keep the Battery Pack(s) or Module(s) properly maintained.

The validity of all warranty claims is reviewed and decided solely by BattMech.

BattMech makes no warranties except as expressly provided in this Limited Warranty. BattMech will not be liable for any punitive, consequential, or incidental damages, such as the cost of installation, towing, electrical system tests, charging a Battery Pack(s), rental vehicles, labor, loss of time, loss of use of a vehicle, loss of life, lost profits, or damage to property other than the Batteries.

Residential Use Only

This Limited Warranty applies only to Batteries installed in vehicles used for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any commercial use voids this Limited Warranty.

Limited Warranty Period

The duration of this Limited Warranty is determined by the specific warranty term purchased or provided by BattMech.com at the time of the original checkout. This Limited Warranty shall remain in force for the stated period of consecutive days, months, or years, or for the stated number of consecutive miles if a mileage limitation applies, together with any associated time period, whichever occurs first. Upon the first occurrence of either the time limitation or the mileage limitation, the Limited Warranty shall automatically expire.

The warranty period shall commence on the date the Batteries is purchased directly from BattMech and shall apply solely to the original purchaser.

This Limited Warranty is non-transferable and may not be assigned or transferred to any other person or entity.

Core Return Policy

Core returns are no longer required for Battery Pack(s) purchased on or after November 14, 2025.

For Battery Pack(s) purchased before November 14, 2025, for which a core return was required under the applicable terms of purchase, the purchaser was obligated to return the core in accordance with those terms. Failure to return the core within thirty (30) days of the original purchase date renders the Limited Warranty void.

For Battery Pack(s) purchased on or after November 14, 2025, no core return is required, and the failure to return a core shall not affect the validity of the Limited Warranty.

Remedies

For any claim covered by this warranty, BattMech, at its sole discretion, will arrange for the repair of your Batteries, or replacement with a Battery Pack(s) or Battery Module(s) of comparable quality, or will refund the claimant for the original cost minus fees and shipping costs if the warranty claim is legitimate.

Refund, repair, or replacement of a failed Battery Pack(s) or Battery Module(s) will be issued once BattMech receives and verifies the condition of the failed Batteries for claim legitimacy. All costs and arrangements for return shipping of any failed Batteries to BattMech in connection with a warranty claim shall be the sole responsibility of the claimant and shall not be reimbursed by BattMech. The Warranty Period shall not be extended, renewed, or restarted as a result of any repair or replacement performed under this Limited Warranty, and the Original Limited Warranty shall continue to run from the original date of purchase and not restart.

The terms of this Limited Warranty are the Purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy with respect to the purchase of your BattMech Batteries.

Warranty Made Void

Some of the reasons this warranty is made void include, but are not limited to:

  • Old bus bars were not replaced with new bus bars that are included in the purchase; this is to ensure optimal battery condition and life (if applicable).
  • Damaged or removed QR code or sticker on any of the modules.
  • Battery air filter was not cleaned and kept clear of obstructions (clean every 3 months).
  • Module(s), including those within Battery Pack(s), are rearranged from the original configuration sent (BATTMECH Battery Pack(s) are professionally balanced to ensure peak performance).
  • Any Original Module(s) sent to the purchaser, including any within a Battery Pack(s), are missing upon return of said Batteries for a warranty claim to BattMech.
  • Module(s), including those within a Battery Pack(s), have been charged or discharged before installing them into a vehicle.
  • Batteries were not installed by a certified automobile repair technician.
  • Batteries not installed within 2 weeks of delivery to purchaser.
  • Vehicle has not been started and driven for at least 30 minutes every 30 days after installation of Module(s) or Battery Pack(s).
  • Batteries have depleted to less than 20% State of Charge (SOC) due to running out of fuel, engine and/or regenerative system malfunction, or user error. Example of user error includes leaving the vehicle in neutral for extended periods while turned on, preventing the engine from recharging the batteries and potentially causing permanent damage.
  • Presence of any of the following diagnostic codes: P3191 (Engine Does Not Start), P3193 (Fuel Run Out), P3190 (Poor Engine Power), P0A0F (Engine Failed to Start), C1256 (Accumulator Low Pressure), or their equivalent diagnostic code. These diagnostic codes indicate the vehicle is unavailable to recharge the Batteries, which will lead to permanent damage.
  • Any additional condition or circumstance specified elsewhere in this Limited Warranty that expressly provides such condition voids the warranty.
  • The following information cannot be supplied to BattMech at the time a claim is made:
    • Error code after being scanned by OBDII (picture/screenshot)
    • Battery voltage by OBDII reader
    • Description of what happens to the car when the issue occurs
    • Driving mileage (if battery installed already)
    • Installation date (if battery installed already)
    • Vehicle model and VIN (if battery is installed already)

File a Claim

To file a BattMech Limited Warranty claim, email info@BattMech.com. Please put in the subject heading, “Limited Warranty Claim.”

Included in the email: name, business name if applicable, address, phone number, and original purchase ID number.

A customer service specialist from BattMech will contact you to guide you through the process based on this Limited Warranty.

A claim for the Warranty is voided if not received within 30 days after the failure or defect occurs in the product.

Class Action Waiver

Any claim must be brought in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, representative, multiple plaintiffs, or similar proceeding (“Class Action”). The Purchaser expressly waives any ability to maintain any Class Action in any forum. No one shall have the authority to combine or aggregate similar claims or conduct any Class Action nor make an award to any entity or person not a party to this agreement. Any claim that all or part of this Class Action Waiver is unenforceable, unconscionable, void, or voidable may be determined only by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Activation

BattMech will automatically activate the Limited Warranty for the purchaser. BattMech will use the checkout/purchase date that the Batteries are purchased directly from BattMech as the start date. This activation will end after 30 days of purchase if a Warranty Form has not been submitted and received within 30 days of the purchase.

Governing Law

This warranty and agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States of America, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provisions or rules.

Any legal suit, action or proceeding arising out of or related to this Agreement or the matters contemplated under this Agreement shall be instituted exclusively in the federal courts of the United States or the courts of the State of Wisconsin each case located in the city of Madison and County of Dane and each Party irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts in any such suit, action or proceeding and waives any objection based on improper venue or forum non conveniens.

Service of process, summons, notice, or other document by mail to such Party’s address set forth herein shall be effective service of process for any suit, action, or other proceeding brought in any such court.

The laws of Wisconsin will apply to this Limited Warranty and any claims or disputes with BattMech involving the purchase, use, performance, or return of your BattMech Batteries. This choice-of-law provision is intended to be given the broadest possible scope and applied to all claims and disputes, without regard to conflict of laws rules.

Headings

The headings, captions, bullet points, numbering, lettering, bold font, and section titles contained in this Limited Warranty are inserted for convenience and reference only and shall not be deemed to form a part of this Limited Warranty. Such headings, captions, and section titles shall have no substantive or interpretive effect and shall not be used to construe, interpret, define, limit, enlarge, or otherwise affect any provision of this Limited Warranty. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between any heading, caption, or section title and the text of the applicable provision, the text of such provision shall govern and control.

Warranty Registration

Warranty Registration Required on All Battery Pack Purchases

To activate your Limited Warranty, you must complete and submit the warranty registration form within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Registration is required for Battery Pack sales only. (The battery pack can consist of 20, 28, 34, or 40 cells/modules of Nickel Metal Hydride design or Multiple Li-Ion Modules.)

Core Return Policy

Core Returns are no longer needed unless you bought a Battery Module(s) or Battery Pack(s) before November 14, 2025.

If you purchased a Battery Module(s) or Battery Pack(s) that required you to return a core prior to November 14th, 2025, you were expected to return your core according to the terms of purchase at that time. If your core was not returned within 30 days from the date of purchase, your warranty is void or will become void.

If you purchase a Battery Module(s) or Battery Pack(s) on or after November 14, 2025, no core return is needed, and not returning one will not void your warranty.
